A wee day to myself
So its a Fife holiday which means a wee day off for me whilst everyone else is working. So what else better to do than get my hair cut, have lunch and then squeeze in a wee hot stone massage.
Today is a day of firsts. I’m going to places I haven’t been before which is daunting when it comes to getting your hair cut.
First stop was Emma Hall Hair . Being a girl with a fringe, i’m cautious of new hair dressers. Usually I just go in for a tidy up and then see what the results are before I dare try anything a bit different. Needless to say my fears were rubbished as soon as I met Stacey. She was full of chat, asked what I wanted and how I usually like my hair and kept asking throughout just to make sure she wasn’t doing something I wouldn’t like. All in all it was a success and I’m looking forward to my next appointment 🙂
Next stop was lunch. Having walked up and down Leith Walk hundreds of times I always looked at I heart Cafe but never ventured in. Seeing as I was right beside it, in I popped.
I only wanted something light for lunch so ordered a salmon and creme fraiche open toastie and some peppermint tea.
The open toastie was £4.10 and there was a load of salmon on it. Well worth the money and even better washed down with lovely peppermint tea on a big comfy couch.
The last and final stop of my day was Sanctuary at the Suites. To be honest, I didn’t know this place was here until I had bought an Itison voucher for a 1 hour hot stone massage.
This place is a little corner of heaven. Before I was shown to my treatment room I was asked to fill in a quick questionnaire covering all the usual questions and also how firm you like your massages. I like them firm but not so firm I’m in tears.
Once shown to my room by Kirstie she checked with me just how firm I liked my massage and once we were in agreement I was left to get myself ready and on the table.
When I got myself arranged on the table I was ready to go. The massage was awesome and then the hot stones were used and I was in heaven. For those of you who haven’t had a hot stone massage before, it’s like little hot water bottles being rubbed all over your body. Its fab 🙂 I had only expected to have my back massaged but it also included my legs and feet. Whilst I was having my legs and feet massaged the little hot stones were lined up along my spine and the blanket pulled up over. I was so toasty, I was drifting in and out of sleep.
Before I knew it, my time was up. I found it hard to believe that the hour had gone by so quickly. The voucher included a glass of bubbly which I took my time drinking and having a wee chat before I left.
I can honestly say I still feel like i’m walking on the moon and that there was still little hot water bottles being rubbed all over my back, actually, maybe that’s the fizz talking.
