Pop-up shop at Ocean Terminal
Hurray, I’ve been allowed to venture out on my own! Although to a pop-up Christmas shop at Ocean Terminal, this could spell trouble for my bank account but lots of happiness for those who are lucky enough to be on my Christmas List.
I was invited along to the Pop-up shop by Lily-Mo for an exclusive preview. If you haven’t already checked them out, you really should. There is lots of lovely bits and pieces of jewellery, some of which I was excited to see in real-life.
The pop-up Christmas shop was set-up in collaboration with Entrepreneurial Spark with the aim of show-casing 15 brilliant new Scottish entrepreneurs selling quality items you don’t find on the high street.
The other half decided that this wasn’t really his cup of tea so I headed off. There was lots of new names on the list but some that I also recognised.
I arrived at the preview, surprised by the transformation which the empty shop had undergone. There were lots of drinks and nibbles on offer as well as a chance to speak with the entrepreneurs themselves. I have great admiration for those who have given up the daily rat race in pursuit of something which they actually like doing and something which makes them happy. It is plain to see that the effort and thought put into each product that these people really are loving what they do and believe in their product.
My favourites from the night;
- Granny Sallys Soap Shop – I bought some lovely raspberry rice pudding body scrub. Then when I got home and checked out their website I discovered they have these fab grab bags, which contain around £20 worth of items for the small sum of £5. Definitely worth checking it out!
- Lily-mo Jewellery – the pieces of jewellery are even prettier in real life!
- Mandy Bailey Gardens – The grow your own boxes; grow your own Christmas dinner, grow your own cocktail kit and a kit for the little ones. Apparently the kits are super easy to grow and even I should be able to keep them alive.
- Oh Really Creative – who have produced a fab insiders guide to Edinburgh. It has everything you could ever need to know regardless of whether you’re a local or a tourist
All the other stands were great too! There’s definitely something for everyone here 🙂
The pop-up shop can be found in what used to be the Wallis shop, down beside Debenhams. It is open Saturday 23rd November 10am-7pm and Sunday 24th November 11am-6pm. If you do miss it, don’t worry as I’ve been assured that there is another one happening in December so keep an eye out for more information closer to the time!
