Product Review: Bancon Homes Gin
Gone are the days of getting a bottle of bubbly or a welcome hamper when you buy a house. Bancon Homes have came up with an even better welcome present, a bottle of limited edition gin. After sponsoring the gin tent at Banchory Beer Festival, the company commissioned Simon Fairclough, head distiller at Persie Gin to develop the gin. Bancon Gin is a classic London dry gin with a blend of botanicals including cassia, cinnamon, Macedonian juniper berries and cardamon.
Made using the London Dry process. When the process is finished only water naturally occurring in the hills is added. A total of 300 50cl bottles have been produced and will be presented to buyers of a new Bancon Home.
This is definitely a gin for Mr E. He is a lover of the spicier gins, me not so much. He loves the warming feeling after drinking and finds it is great paired with a good quality ginger ale. When you first smell the gin you are met with a wave of mint which then gives way to a spiciness. He liked this gin and would be delighted to find it waiting for him if he bought a new house.
