Black Wolf Brewery Craft Beer

May 20, 2014 by Her Leave a Comment

So we were invited along to the launch night of the Black Wolf Brewery on the 6th May at Whighams but due to my wisdom teeth giving me trouble we had to turn down the invitation at the last minute.  Mr Edinburger wasn’t the happiest about this as he loves a good beer and judging by the branding, it’s right up his street.

Black Wolf Brewery has been on the go since 2002 but rebranded this year.  They have a number of beers already on sale but the launch saw then tapping into the craft beer market.  There are 5 beers in the craft range.

BW_500ml_GOLDIGGER

Gold Digger

ABV: 4.2% Colour: Blonde

Bright and golden as a shiny nugget, this citra hopped blonde beer is bursting with grapefruit and peach flavours. Savour it, don’t wolf it!

BW_500ml_FLORIDA BLACK

Florida Black

ABV: 4.5% Colour: Black

As smooth and silken as our American cousin the Florida Black Wolf, this stout is packed with flavours of sweet, treacly chocolate and complemented by smoky, toasted wild oats.

BW_500ml_BIG RED

Big Red

ABV: 3.8% Colour: Ruby Red

If  big, red and full of character is your thing then maybe this will be too. This assertive ruby ale is big in flavour, with hints of tropical fruit, sweet treacle and balances a bitter, hoppy finish.

BW_500ml_TUNDRA

Tundra

ABV: 4.8% Colour: Golden

This is a wild animal of a wheat beer. It’s described as dry-hopped with elderflowers to give a fresh, citrus and floral flavour with a light dry palate provided by Bavarian yeast.

BW_500ml_ROK

ROK

ABV: 4.0% Colour: Blonde

Described as being full and rounded like an Indian new moon, this new breed is a modern twist on Indian Pale Ale.  Jammed with fruity flavour and tantalising bitterness.

If the branding is anything to go by then these beers will soon become firm favourites in our house.

Next stop is finding somewhere that sells it so we can see if it’s as good as it looks.

Her and Him x
