Yo! Sushi

February 15, 2015 by Her 3 Comments

It’s not often Mr Edinburger meets me somewhere to go for dinner as we usually leave together but on Thursday night we arranged to meet at Yo! Sushi on Princes Street. Being located bang in the centre is a massive advantage.

2015-02-12 17.47.21 When we arrived the place was starting to fill up and we managed to bag ourselves a window seat right beside the Castle and more importantly the conveyor belt of food. This was a first time for both of us and we were a little unsure about the whole set-up. We were shown to our seats by a very friendly waitress and everything was explained to us. (Top tip – if you see something you like on the belt, take it off and work out from the menu what it is, if you don’t like it, set it back. Otherwise you’ll be waiting 20 minutes for it to appear back).

First thing on the agenda was to get drinks sorted. These arrived in his and her style 🙂
yo2 After we decided what to have from the hot menu, the next task was to control ourselves when picking from the endless dishes passing the end of our table.

We had a great time at Yo! Sushi and the food was a great quality. We were a little skeptical as to the quality of food we would be eating but were very pleasantly surprised. Our favourite dishes being Chicken Katsu Curry and Popcorn Shrimp Tempura. Both packed a great flavour and tasted very fresh. All the dishes we tried were fresh tasting and full of flavour. Being able to order a combination of hot food and then picking the room temperature items off the belt whilst you were waiting is an excellent idea. Just remember to control yourself and save some room for the dishes you have ordered.  It’s a great location and very handy for a break during shopping or meeting people after work. For our first visit it exceeded expectations and has given us a taste for sushi. It might not be as authentic as we’d have liked but it was fun.  We can’t wait to go back again!

Her x

I’ve been meaning to try the Princes St one since it opened, it looks good! I always end with way too many plates!

We loved it. 8 dishes was plenty but it could have easily been 18 🙂

I always go to Yo!Sushi on a Monday, when they do their Blue Mondays. All the plates on the conveyor belt are blue, so it’s a lot cheaper, and they do both hot and cold foods on the conveyor belt – which is better for me, as I tend to mainly go for the hot food, and having to order all my food sort of defeats the purpose of going there 🙂
